M. Lionel Couture est le frère de notre vice-président, M. Ovila Couture. Il est décédé le 9 mars à Groton dans l’État de New York et il était originaire de Saint-Marc-du-Lac-Long dans le comté de Témiscouata. Il a commencé à travailler pour l’entreprise Gutchess Lumber en tant que bûcheron sous contrat en 1967, puis il a déménagé sa famille à Cortland, NY de façon permanente en 1972. En 1970, il a fondé l’entreprise Couture Logging Corp. dans le hameau d’East Homer puis il est devenu acheteur et vendeur de grumes spécialisé dans le bois de placage pour les marchés nationaux et internationaux, dont le Canada, la Chine et la France. Il était un amateur de chasse, de hockey, de la pêche, des voyages, de l’exploitation forestière et il aimait visiter le Québec pour voir sa famille.

THE ANNUAL RENEWAL CONTINUES

DEATH OF MR LIONEL COUTURE (1933-2020)

Mr. Lionel Couture is the brother of our vice-president, M. Ovila Couture. He died on March 9 in Groton, New York, and was born in Saint-Marc-du-Lac-Long in the county of Temiscouata in Quebec. He began working for Gutchess Lumber Co. as a contracted logger in 1967, then moved his family to Cortland, NY permanently in 1972. In 1970, he founded Couture Logging Corp. in East Homer, NY then he became a buyer and seller of logs specializing in veneer lumber for the national and international markets, including Canada, China and France. He was a fan of hunting, hockey, fishing, traveling, logging and he enjoyed visiting Quebec to see his family.

I offer my sympathies to our Vice-President and his family.
